Elizabeth Evatt Community Legal Centre is an independent, not for profit community organisation that provides free legal advice and other legal services

COVID-19 is a challenging and rapidly evolving situation that is impacting almost every aspect of our lives. We each have an important role to play to help ‘flatten the curve’ and keep ourselves, our families and our wider communities safe. Much advice has been that ‘if the option exists, working from home is preferable’. Fortunately, this is an option for our team, so we have now closed our office and are moving meetings and activities online.

While our physical office in Katoomba will be closed, our work continues. Our phone advice lines will operate as usual. Current clients will still have access to their solicitors and tenant advocates through usual means.

In the face of so much change and uncertainty, fighting injustice and defending human rights – particularly the rights of the most vulnerable in our community – becomes more important than ever.

We encourage everyone to be kind to each other during this difficult time.
